Warwickshire Police Selects Crown Workforce Management to Modernise Duty Management

Five-year agreement will see Warwickshire Police deploy Crown's cloud-based Duty Management System to improve workforce planning, resource visibility and operational efficiency.

A workforce management software specialist has clinched a deal to support Warwickshire Police in optimising its operations and staffing resources.

The initial five-year agreement will see Crown Workforce Management, which is based in Tamworth, deploying its cloud-based duties management system to make it easier and quicker for Warwickshire to manage its resources, responding better to the service demands from the public.

Their duty management system helps police forces to plan duty rosters across a 12-month period, gain full visibility of performance through analytics and reporting, and provide a mobile self-service platform for staff to manage their schedules and information.

The scheduling process uses intelligent planning tools to very quickly identify officer skillsets and qualifications and match them for their suitability to perform specific roles. This is vital to enable the force to plan their resources more effectively and respond quickly to local or national incidents, for example when asked to provide mutual aid to other UK police services.

Crown’s business and technical activities are all approved to ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials, ensuring that the solution and service provide mandated compliance with the exacting operational standards that are essential for the security and performance of the system.

Warwickshire Police joins a large group of over a dozen police services that Crown is supplying with its software, underlining its credentials with the emergency services.

Mike Hawkesford, Managing Director at Crown, said: “Warwickshire Police is an extremely progressive force, now embarking on a programme to upgrade its business application platforms, using best of breed solutions to empower its staff, senior ranks and executives with the information they need to operate more effectively. “

“The ability for our system to safely integrate with other third-party platforms, including HR and Payroll systems, means that we are providing Warwickshire and other police services, with the long-term infrastructure to explore innovative approaches to workforce management in the coming years.”

“I am delighted that Crown has been selected to play a key role in this project, which will help Warwickshire to improve its service to the county and set a high service bar for the next decade.”

Crown Workforce Management provides industry-leading software that helps organisations to solve complex workforce problems by helping to boost productivity while reducing costs.

Alison Hall, Head of Human Resources for Warwickshire Police, said, “We are looking forward to working with Crown Workforce Management and are confident that their previous experience with other police forces means we are in capable hands.

“The New Model for Policing 2026 is centred on technological improvements, and upgrading our software is a significant step towards achieving these ambitions for the future.

“Planning our duties and staffing is a key part of our ability to operate, supporting our dedication to consistently supporting and protecting all of our communities across Warwickshire. Solid workforce planning also helps us improve work life balance for our staff and officers, contributing towards their own wellbeing.”
