Initially you may need to take a step back and examine what key business questions do you have that data can answer?
- What are current service levels?
- How can they be improved?
- How can we respond in a more timely manner?
Using business intelligence our users will gain a more comprehensive real-time accurate understanding of their activities, processes and ultimately people presence requirements. These actionable insights enable detailed report generation using Power BI, combining multiple sources of data – no matter where from, not just from Crowns core functions but literally anywhere! Synthesis and analysis transforming base data into easily understandable facts for use by leadership teams across the organisation. Planners now have the knowledge to refine scheduling and other processes to provide not only a better service, but drive productivity and efficiency improvements whilst recognising staff prerequisites and desires.
We continually strive to improve our product to fit with the changing landscape and this increased rostering/scheduling requirement means that we have new developments in progress to refine this component of the solution meaning that it will work better for larger groups and organisations. And, as functionality improves, it is essential that all users are supported through the change. Our new partnership with me learning has created a smarter, more efficient digital training capability. With staff able to practice as much or as little as they want, when they want – reducing the stress and anxiety that often comes with the roll out of any technology change, especially useful in an initial training phase when we must bring literally thousands of users up to speed very quickly. But it also means that year-on-year, new employees can receive training which is always fresh and current.
me learning means:
- Online tutorials
- Reduction in time to train entire staff
- Schedule training around key frontline duties to reduce abstraction
- 24/7, no travel reducing inconvenience
- Cost effective
- Consistent and yet can be precisely tailored to individual needs
- Measurable progress
- Encouraging development

Procuring, installing, managing, and maintaining IT environments for workforce management can be a major distraction and a logistically-challenging project. No sooner has it been achieved, then that technology will be on a countdown to obsolescence and another cycle of investment and upheaval – not so with a cloud solution. Even with multiple locations, by creating a consolidated workforce management platform in the Cloud, your whole organisation can be working to the same principles while allowing for differences in operations, applications and local conditions, running the most up-to-date versions of the Crown system throughout.
All workforce data processed by the Crown cloud solution is secured by Microsoft Azure. The levels of security and encryption provided by Microsoft are truly exceptional. This abundance of new data is available and able to be analysed even by a more agile workforce needing access ‘on the move’.
The last months, or now almost years, have been a time of unprecedented stress for many on personal and professional levels, we are confident that Crown’s more holistic approach can provide consistently better, more manageable installations, upgrades and ongoing training as we move forward in this future together.
